Enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience with Paradise Country’s koala population. Join our passionate wildlife keepers as they take you on a special back-of-house tour through our naturalistic habitats to meet the resident Koalas. Enjoy the precious interaction as you connect with the koalas and learn about their biology, habitats, and threats.

A portion of proceeds from every Koala Encounter will be donated to Paradise Country’s Save a Mate conservation campaign, proudly supported by the Sea World Foundation. Terms & Conditions

The Experience

Go behind the scenes to learn more about koalas

Up to 20 minute interactive and educational experience

12:30pm daily

A koala will be present throughout the encounter

Take home a souvenir photo with a koala

Medium group session (maximum 8 people per encounter)

Children under 6 years are not permitted. Children between the ages of 6 and 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult 18+

Darrau

Darrau

Born: 3rd May 2007 | Sex: Male Born at Paradise Country, Darrau is a handsome and comical koala known for his quirky poses and laid-back attitude. A shy soul at heart, he still manages to win hearts, especially when socialising with the ladies!

Mavis

Mavis

Born: 6th Oct 2021 | Sex: Female Mavis is a magnificent little Miss who’s as fluffy and as puffy as marsupials come. She is a solo explorer who is eager to embrace the most important aspects of simply being a koala…eating, sleeping and delighting her adoring fans.

Jensen

Born: 6th June 2020 | Sex: Male

Jensen is a handsome and daring koala who loves to journey down from the elevated treetops. Keen to live life on the edge, he often explores unfamiliar terrain without a worry in the world. Jensen is easy to spot with his large pink nose markings.

Tallow

Born: 16th Nov 2018 | Sex: Female Tallow made history as the 50th koala born at Paradise Country, and is now the proud mum of her adorable joeys, Floyd and Tyalla. She flaunts her natural bold dark markings around her eyes and her nearly symmetrical pink nose markings. Fun Fact: Tallow was voted cutest Koala joey in 2019 by Tourism Australia.

Floyd

Born 3rd April 2023 | Sex: Male Floyd is the son of Tallow and shares the same distinct dark lining around his eyes. He adopted his sweet nature from his mother but is still a curious kid, always on the hunt for adventure and loves exploring! Fun Fact: Floyd was inspired by the popular band 'Pink Floyd'.

Tyalla

Born 30th Oct 2024 | Sex: Female Tyalla has just started exploring outside of her mother's, Tallow, pouch. She has already adopted a curious and adventurous nature like her brother, Floyd. Similar to her mother and brother, she is developing the distinct eye and nose markings. Fun Fact: Tyalla is indigenous for "eucalyptus".
